update on course duration:
last week's brochure initially showed a 15 week duration for the course (based on H.E.'s initial verbal information provided), current posted course information on this website now states a 12 week duration for the course (according to the latest official information provided to me by the Jamchen Administration). The exact course length should be clarified this weekend by H.E., and final dates posted here early next week. the weekly course fees we already posted will remain unchanged no matter what the course length is, but the full course fee posted today for the first time (with a discount for paying upfront for the full course) is currently based on a 12 week program duration and this figure will change if the course is extended to 15 weeks.
New Information:
For those who already expressed interest to attend and have contacted the course organizers by email in the last few days, confirmation of places should occur early next week (by email) when we know the exact number of people we can accommodate.
course material: it is our intention to have the manual we will be using available in .pdf form online (at no cost) so people can print the material themselves if they so prefer, and also make it available in printed hard copy form at the venue for those that prefer a bound manual (price tba)
further information to be provided at our forum in the next few days

update on course duration and cost:
1) course duration now confirmed as 15 weeks: - main reason: according to the lecturer, the prepared course material needs that amount of time
2) final costing of individual sessions, and full 15 week course: a) weekly session costs: are exactly the same as advertised originally 10 days ago, and remain unchanged. b) upfront payment for the full course: the same type of principle still applies as we announced 2 days ago, for those that prefer to pay upfront they receive a near 20% cost reduction, but 3 classes are now added to the total cost and duration of the whole course.
the forum brochure and pdf file (available in the original post of this thread) have been updated accordingly
course material and other matters:
in the next few days further information will be posted regarding manuals. we hope to make this available to participants in pdf form if at all possible, but this is still subject to approval by the author and we await confirmation. printed manuals will be available (cost tba) at the first class of the course.
in principle all you will need to bring is your own writing material, to make notes during the class itself.
there was initially no intention to make recordings of the current lectures, since we intend to repeat the classes at a future date and the provided manual is very comprehensive. we are currently investigating if recording the classes might be possible. for most of these types of courses there is normally no proviso to allow individual participants to make their own audio recordings, since with multiple people doing this it becomes disruptive for the other participants and the lecturer.

Update regarding enrollment confirmation:
enrollment confirmations were emailed on Thursday, asking applicants to reply by the 7th of February to confirm they will be attending.
All applicants should have received an email from us today informing them on the status of their application. If you have not been contacted and did apply, please let us know by email (to the course coordinator) so we can make sure nobody was overlooked.

update:
registration process: will now start from 7.00 pm, not 6.45 pm as originally planned (on Monday 8th February 2010) reason: because an earlier meditation class at Jamchen will now not finish till 7.00 pm on that same evening. if you arrive a little early, please wait till 7.00 pm before entering
class start time: The 1e class of the course will still start at 7.15 pm that same evening as planned
cost of printed and bound manuals: 30$ the manual is a 250 pg comb bound manual with 2 sided page printing, we are basically providing it at cost. there is no obligation to purchase it, but you will find it to be a compact useful resource. printing is done with permission from the author, allowing us to offer it as a resource for students as part of the tibetan language course at Jamchen. note: we are not able to provide a software pdf file of the same manual as originally hoped because of copyright restrictions.

Update:the class for May 03 2010 is canceled due to an unexpected delay in Rinpoche's travel schedule, so the first class this term will be on May 10, 2010 please note: the email regarding this class postponement which was sent out today incorrectly states the dates of 2e of may (as canceled) and 9th of may (classes resuming), but those dates correspond to the preceding sunday. i anticipate the recipients will be able to independently use their respective higher cognitive powers to resolve this minor error correctly. if you are attending these classes, please make sure your email contact details have been supplied to the class coordinator (tibetanclasses@gmail.com), so you can receive updates by email
