Calm Abiding Meditation courses are run by Jamchen four times a year which coincide with the Victorian school term dates. The Introduction to Calm Abiding Course has eight sessions and usually runs over a nine week period with a one week break. These courses are run by students of Lama Choedak Rinpoche who have completed the train the trainer teacher course at SIBA. The teachers give a basic introduction to calm abiding meditation from a set of teachings designed by Rinpoche and based on traditional Buddhist texts. The course is suitable for anyone who wants to taste the benefits meditation. Using mindfulness and concentration, students will learn to develop a greater peace of mind, greater clarity and concentration and the ability to choose happiness and much more. A commitment to Buddhism is not necessary.
The course includes teaching, practice and discussion in a seminar format. There will be ample opportunity for clarifying any questions about the practice and for learning a new and practical skill for use in everyday life..
Cost: $80.00. Bookings are essential, as numbers are limited.
(Please note that the course involves a sequential set of teachings. To maximise learning participants are encouraged to attend all 8 sessions.)
